Savon de Marseille is gentle, pure, and naturally anti-bacterial which makes it ideal for skin care. Grated, shredded or blended, Savon de Marseille can be used in a variety of ways within your home. This magical and pure soap can be used as laundry detergent, a powerful stain remover, and for pests that attack your plants.
As A Powerful Stain Remover
Marseille can be used to clean your home from sofas, rugs, tiled floors and stone floors. You can clean counters, tubs or pretty much any surface in your home. Simply rub a piece of Savon de Marseille on a damp cloth or sponge or evenly distribute the soap grated onto any surface you want to treat and rinse well. Marseille soap is ideal to clean or degrease walls and tiled floors. To clean stone, use a brush soaked in Savon de Marseille. This technique can be used for anything from travertine, marble granite, terra cotta and even slate.
As a Clean Laundry Detergent
Savon de Marseille can be used to clean your finest cashmere sweaters to newborn baby clothing to delicate silks and lingerie items (my favourite). Since Marseille has no colouring or synthetic additives, it is ideal for sensitive skin and delicate clothing.
Savon De Marseille can also be used as a stubborn stain remover. To remove a stain from a garment, simply rub the area with a barely damp Marseille soap to form a crust on the stain to treat. Let it dry, and launder as you normally would. This technique can be used for stains such as: alcohol, chocolate, coffee, food and saucy stains, lipstick and make up.
